Habitat: Throughout the African continent south of the Sahara. They inhabit grassy and shrub savannas.

Diet: Leaves of trees and shrubs, but in their absence, they readily eat grass, juicy plant fruits, and dig up tubers and roots with their hooves.

• Kanna antelopes usually live in groups of about 25 animals, but under favorable conditions, they can include up to 700 animals.
• Large herds are usually temporary associations without strong bonds. Typically, groups consist of an adult male and several females, as well as young males and juveniles. Rarely, a group may contain more than one adult male, which follows mandatory battles for hierarchy. During such fights, kannas interlock horns and try to wound their opponent, often resulting in serious injuries.
• Antelopes are well adapted to various climatic conditions. Looking at their range, it’s clear that they are scattered across the planet.
• Although kannas are usually slow-moving animals, they can reach speeds of up to 80 km/h.
• They have good endurance and can jump up to 3 meters.
• Males’ horns are twice as large as females’. Females’ horns typically grow up to 63 cm, whereas males’ can grow up to 126 cm.
